BASKETBALL NEWS: MONTVERDE ACADEMY WINS 2013 NHSI SHOCKER!! Team CP3 wins the Bigshots!!!

okay, so this past Saturday(April 6th), Montverde Academy of Florida defeated St.Benedict's Prep of New Jersey to win the 2013 NHSI Tournament at Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda, Maryland just outside of Washington D.C. 67 to 65. It seemed like Tyler Ennis, St.Benedict's starting senior point guard and Syracuse Commit, won the game with a nice three pointer with a few seconds left on the clock, and Montverde would lose again to a buzzer-beater (Nigel Williams-Goss of Findlay Prep). However, the die hard attitude of Mcdonald's All-American and Florida commit Kasey Hill would not let this happen. He drove down the length of the court and made the biggest assist of his career to one his teammates to sink a three as time expired. This is the first national championship for Montverde Academy in their history and it's first under head coach Kevin Boyle. For more on this story visit this link montverde championship

According to Theo Pinson's instagram and Nate Mason's instagram accounts, Team CP3 (Elite 17) won the prestigious Nike EYBL Bigshots Tourney in Georgia on Sunday(April 7th). In the photo caption, Theo stated that Whitney Young Basketball Star LJ Peak plays on the team, but missed a picture in order to catch a flight back to Chicago. Congrats CP3. How to get a girl you really want

Okay, so this post is for my male readers. I used to have trouble talking to girls and trying to hangout with them. This phase only changed when I gained confidence in myself and just be who I am. A thing with me was that I tried to fit in with the wanna be popular kids who actually aren't even popular anymore. Another thing is you have to love yourself before other people can love you and you can love others. If you want to impress a girl who you really like, simply present yourself in a nice manner. If you don't like how you look, you can always work to make your body, particularly males who used to be obese. I used to b obese believe it or not, and I didn't like it. Fortunately, with intense workouts and prayer and faith, I got in shape. I'm not telling you this too brag, I'm saying that if you want to change how you are, YOU have opportunities to do. I believe, there is one trule love for everybody there, so it will come to you if you just be yourself and set your standards! I hope this helps, talk to y'all later readers. come back and see us.

HOW TO ONLINE SHOE BUY!!!! A MUST READ FOR SNEAKERHEADS!

Okay, so this topic has been floating around my mind for the past couple of weeks and I think its time to explain how I purchase things online, particulary in shoes. I love sneakers, and I love basketball. I am not alone in this passion, because a lot of people share this same passion. When somebody wants a shoe but either can't find it at a local retail store or doesn't feel like dealing with a crowd (like jordans), people look online as backup. Over the past few years, online shopping has increased greatly, and online sneaker buying has increased significantly ever year since I was born. Today I'm going to give you advice from personal experience as well as porvide a video(not made by me) to help you to have a successful online buying experience.

For the most part, eastbay.com is a great and the most safest website of all purchases of athletic equipment. They always have the real deal, and if its not what you like you have 30 days to return it, and I believe the refund comes promptly. It is also great because it provides great documentation, track of shipping, and even deals when you spend a certain amount of money on their site. I not only recommend this site not  for its service, but because its quality. However, there are some issues. One, the site may false advertise and say they have a shoe, and then a few days later they will send you a discrepency email stating something like, "We're sorry but we are currently out of stock and your money will be funded". A way to avoid this would be call the online support while ordering, to ensure that they have the size, so you won't be disappointed like I was when I got the "we're sorry" email about the Air Jordan Retro 9 "Kilroy's". On the bright side though, they have shoes all the way up to size 20 in men I believe( I wear a size 17), so they'll pretty much have all shoes. They also inculde casual shoes now in all sizes up to 20, so it's a really big plus.

Alright, if your not completely sold on the eastbay.com or any other website of that nature, might I suggest ebay? Before you completely jump off the boat and say "Your crazy to think I'm buying anything off of Ebay" just hear me out. I follow a simple set of rules to keep me on the staright and narrow of buying anything off Ebay, especially shoes. For starters, you always want to make sure the item has pictures, if not, then you need to contact the seller and request that he or she posts pictures online. If that is a problem for him or her, then that means that is a bad sign. Two, in order to tell a fake, research shoes and research fakes to have a better knowledge on specific items. Another thing to do is ask for a copy or picture of their receipt. They probably will, because the seller's more often than not, want you to buy their product. As far as price negotiations, I believe it is about how you can talk or present your words to people. If you want to buy shoes but not break your bank to develop relationships with people and make a deal of some sort. For instance, I like these Allen Iverson shoes and I want to buy them in my size, but the seller listed them at 170, and original retail was 125. I managed to talk him down to 160 and to hold it for me because if you can ask the buyer to build a buying selling relationship with the seller and try to make a deal, this is an option. Now you need to be careful on what you buy on a auctioning website, because sometimes they may not give refunds.

Alright readers, now you have a general aspect on online sneaker buying. I hope that this helps, and if you need more advice on stuff let me know and I will continue to write advice pieces. Thanks and come back to read!!!!!!

Journey To Be A HOBY Junior Staff in 2013:Day 8

Wow, it has been a long time since I've written in my column. Im a state champion in basketball, ranked number six in my class, and I found out that I may have a new job this summer. I have to get back on my basketball grind though, so that means more working out. I have to continue to have faith, because without it I probably wouldn't have made it far. I have to try and Thank God everyday for the gifts that he gave me. I also need to work on my people skills a little bit more, and just getting myself prepared for the aau scene. the pool interview was a humbling experience because it showed me how to take rejection, and I believe that God intended for that to happen.
